Thomas and Alicia Beach Proposal

The first time I talked to Thomas over the phone, I KNEW that him and Alicia had a love that was going to last. Thomas is that sweet guy who had kept every single memento from his relationship with Alicia. Alicia and Thomas met at school in California and knew right away it was meant to be! After school, Alicia moved back to the Seattle area for a job and Thomas soon followed.

There’s a small beach over near Deception Pass that Alicia’s family and friends have named “Alicia Beach.” Thomas knew immediately that he wanted to make Alicia his fiancé at this beach. But of course hiking to a beach and dropping on one knee wasn’t near enough. Thomas wanted to catalog their entire relationship. From the parking lot to the beach, four different tables were set up to document their relationship milestones including: “First Coffee”, “First Date,” “Ventura,” and “Seattle”. Each table had a chalkboard with key dates, photos, flowers and mementos from that time period.

By the time they made it to Alicia Beach, Alicia anticipated what was coming. There was a much larger chalkboard with champagne, rose petals and candles set up. Thomas dropped down on his knee for .5 seconds before Alicia said “Yes!”

The newly engaged couple celebrated with champagne and took the day to be together. Later that evening they headed to a restaurant to celebrate with their closest family and friends in Seattle.

The two wed on a beautiful November Saturday and we’re so excited for them to celebrate this huge chapter in their lives!

Nathan + Michaela’s Sweet Proposal

We were SO honored to be able to bring together Nathan’s dream proposal to his beautiful girlfriend, Michaela. I think we were just as anxious and excited as he was when they walked into the Mansion minutes before the big moment! Nathan had told her they were going to an art show at the classic Mansion on Turtle Creek, but when they turned the corner for the “art show”, Michaela was greeted by a guitarist, flower lined path, and a bigger surprise than she could’ve imagined! Afterwards, they enjoyed a private dinner on the terrace- so romantic! We loved the intimacy of the proposal, thoughtful details that went into making this proposal so special, and of course the fact that they will have these photos by Charla Storey to remember this day forever!!  Cheers to Nathan + Michaela!

Why Your Proposal Should Be Unique…

Posted by: Victoria Rellas

With Pinterest, Facebook and all other sorts of social media mediums, proposals have become a very public thing. You come across the movie theater rentals, flash mobs, and other very public proposals where numerous others gather around the proposal whether the couple knows them or not.

We see nothing wrong with these public displays of affection, unless your future fiancé does! Every single proposal should be different, and that is simply because your relationship is unique and special in its own right.

Over The Top Proposals

Posted by Sarah Gai, Seattle

Since engagement season is in full swing, we found it only appropriate to highlight some of the most OVER-THE-TOP proposals on the web. Use this as inspiration – or chalk this up as a what-not-to-do – and as always, happy proposing!

For the love of Harry Potter!

Harry Potter

OK, this one isn’t as over-the-top as it is pretty darn creative. Knowing his future bride is a HUGE Harry Potter fan, this clever fella carved out the latest copy of the novel and fastened the engagement ring inside. And of course presented her with an unharmed copy of the book once she said, “yes.”

The writings’ in the sand

Sand Proposal

{source}

A mysterious sand art installation was spotted at Ocean Beach, California, in April. An elaborate pattern contained the words, “Will you marry me Kelly?” After the pictures were posted at the San Francisco 7×7 magazine blog, readers identified the blissful couple, who are well on their way to wedded bliss. I challenge you to top THAT one.

Making the movies jealous

This dude spent quite a bit of time preparing his movie trailer to be shown at a local theatre while he was on a date with his unsuspecting girlfriend. With the help of a filmmaker, and her father’s permission, of course, this guy popped the question as they were surrounded by friends and family, unbeknownst to the newly engaged bride-to-be. Watch her reaction – it’s simply priceless.

OK – I changed my mind. Top THAT one!

Whoops! Ultimate proposal fail

This poor guy. After months and months of planning, Don Walling decides to pop the question to his girlfriend on top of the Brooklyn Bridge. Just as he’s about the present her with the ring, he DROPS it and it falls through the cracks down on the roadway below. Did that stop this modern-day Prince Charming from saving the day? Of course not! The brave man climbed down onto the roadway in heavy traffic to retrieve the ring, which was bent, but reparable. And believe it or not, his girlfriend accepted his offer of marriage.

Flashmob Extraordinaire

Yes, I know. We live in an era where flashmobs seem to be a regular occurrence, but no matter how many times I see this one, this man’s creativity never ceases to amaze me. Watch as his unsuspecting girlfriend sits in the back of their Honda CRV as 60 of their closest friends and family help to pull off one of the greatest proposals that has graced the internet. Bravo. Bravo.

So does this inspire you? Intrigue you? Are you ready to give us a call to help plan YOUR big day? I’ll have my filmmaker on speed dial.
